Strong Pirates were gifted cheap goals – Ramovic

Published on by

TS Galaxy coach Sead Ramovic has praised Orlando Pirates for their performance in the latest Premier Soccer League outing, terming them a very strong team.

The Soweto Giants played the Rockets on Tuesday night at the Mbombela Stadium aiming at extending their winning run.

A 16th-minute strike by Thalente Mbatha opened the scoring for the visitors before youngster Relebohile Mofokeng sealed the win with a beauty with 18 minutes to go. The win opened a massive six-point gap between them and defending champions Mamelodi Sundowns who will play Cape Town City.

The result mean TS Galaxy have now lost four league games already in the five matches they have played in the new campaign.

‘TS Galaxy made small mistakes against Orlando Pirates' – Ramovic

“I believe that we came very ready for the game. We made a lot of small mistakes from the build-up, and we got two very cheap goals, but I don’t want to take any credit away from the opponents,” the 45-year-old German said after the game.

“Very strong team, very good players, nice, beautiful club, top coaching staff, but we concede goals that we should not.

“All-in-all, after the 1-0 from Orlando, we knew that they would hold a little bit back on the counterattack and this is what happened.”

When will Galaxy and Pirates play again?

The loss on Tuesday put the Rockets rock bottom of the PSL table with a single point, a result that was not anticipated at the beginning of the 202/25 season.

On Sunday, Galaxy will be hosting Magesi at the Mbombela Stadium in the Carling Knockout quarter-final outing.

The Sea Robbers resume action on Tuesday against Richards Bay in the Premier Soccer League outing at the Orlando Stadium.
