Mamelodi Sundowns have reportedly bolstered their technical team by appointing the former head coach of AmaZulu FC.

Sundowns' coaching staff continues to undergo significant changes. This follows the exit of head coach Rulani Mokwena, along with other members including Michael Loftman and Sinethemba Badela.

Just days after the departure of head coach Rulani Mokwena, Sundowns announced the surprise return of Steve Komphela

Komphela, who had abruptly left the club at the start of the season to become head coach at Moroka Swallows, will now serve as Senior Coach.

Manqoba Mngqithi is poised to assume the role of head coach as per his agent Mike Makaab.

SUNDOWNS APPOINT FORMER AMAZULU COACH

Meanwhile, to further bolster their technical team, Sundowns have appointed former AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz as the assistant coach according to iDiski Times.

It is understood Folz has a strong relationship with Mngqithi who’s currently in charge as the club is holding the pre-season in Austria. When AmaZulu appointed Folz, Mnqithi had recommended him for the job.

The French-Moroccan coach, Folz is said to have arrived on Thursday in the camp to join the side as it prepares for the next season under a revamped technical team.

This will be his third job in South Africa having served as a head coach at Marumo Gallants and Usuthu.

He guided Bahlabane Ba Batwa in six matches, drawing five and losing one. Meanwhile, he was on the touchline of Usuthu in 19 matches, winning four, losing six and drawing nine.

After being sacked by AmaZulu, he landed a job with the Guinean giants Horoya AC, but his tenure was short-lived. He was dismissed after only three months following the club's elimination from the CAF Champions League.

He most recently held a performance manager position at FIFA, having been appointed in November of last year.

Additionally, Sundowns recently announced the signing of Brazilian forward Arthur de Oliveira Sales to reinforce their striking department.

They have also signed Kobamelo Kodisang who has even taken part in their last two friendly matches in Austria.
