Former Kaizer Chiefs winger Junior Khanye does not believe Mamelodi Sundowns have any chance in the CAF Champions League.
Sundowns settled for a goalless draw with Egyptian giants and defending champions Al Ahly in the first leg of their semi-final at Loftus Versfeld last Saturday, when the record winners had the ball in the net twice, but both goals ruled out for offside.
They now head to the second leg in Cairo on Friday where a scoring draw will see them secure a place in the final against either PSL rivals Orlando Pirates or Egyptian club Pyramids.
Khanye has faith in Al Ahly experience

However, Khanye feels Miguel Cardoso’s team have no chance against the Cairo Red Devils on enemy territory as the Egyptians have a lot of experience in the competition which will be on full display in the return match.
“I have said it before that they [Sundowns] are not going to win the Champions League,” Khanye told iDiski TV.
“This is the end of the road. They are going away and the team they are playing against is a different team. The Ahly that played in the group stage and this one are two different.
Why is ex-Chiefs star ruling out Downs?

“Technically, they are something else. You look at number 11 [Nejc Gradisar]. He has something special but can’t compare to number 22 [Emam Abdelghany] because 22 is something else.
“In front of his home crowd, I’m sure the coach, though he will be cautious, will give him freedom to play and he’s going to want him to score. They are going to beat Sundowns away.”
Sundowns are looking to go past the semi-final this season, after getting eliminated at that stage in the last two years, while eyeing their second title following their maiden victory in 2016 under legendary coach Pitso Mosimane.
