Retired goalkeeper Aime Kitenge, who’s familiar with Kaizer Chiefs goalie Fiacre Ntwari has discussed the downfall of the Rwandan star at his club.
Ntwari arrived at Chiefs from TS Galaxy with high expectations at the start of the season, tasked with solidifying the club's goalkeeping department.
He established himself as a regular in the first round of matches before Bruce Bvuma regained the number one jersey.
According to Kitenge, Ntwari's move to Chiefs coincided with a challenging period for the club, leading to him being thrust into a high-pressure environment.
Kitenge believes that playing international matches will be crucial for Ntwari to rebuild his confidence.
’THE BOY HAS BEEN UNFORTUNATE’
“The boy has been unfortunate at Chiefs in that he has been the victim of circumstances,” says retired goalkeeper Aime Kitenge as per KickOff.
“He joined the club through a difficult period as Chiefs seek to recover from all that has been happening to the club.

“Instead of getting a steady transition into the club, he was just thrown into the deep end.
“I feel it was a mistake to rush him at Chiefs because he then succumbed to the pressure of the fans.
“The boy wasn't used to what comes with playing for Chiefs, so the fans made him crack.
“I believe it has now helped him that he has been able to play international games this month in a space where he is trusted. As a keeper, it is important to be around those that believe in you.
“Bruce was meant to have played from the start and have Fiacre coming in as back-up so that he builds up the courage instead of being thrown into the lion's den.
“Now that the pressure is off him, he will come back settled and having a better understanding.
“The pressure was mounting and became afraid of the responsibility, expectations, and scrutiny, but he will come alright.”
