The Uruguayan midfielder seems to have found a new home at Naturena

Kaizer Chiefs are close to completing the signing of former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Gaston Sirino.

Sirino’s move to Amakhosi has moved with speed following coach Nasreddine Nabi’s admission that he is highly interested in adding him to his squad.

The 33-year-old was spotted at Chiefs’ headquarters in Naturena on Friday with SABC later reporting that he had completed his medical ahead of his move.

Nabi had already hinted at a move for Sirino

Sirino is reported to have signed a two-year deal with the Glamour Boys as he begins a new chapter in his career after six years with the PSL champions.

The Uruguayan joined the Brazilians in January 2018, winning six PSL titles, and recently acquired a South African passport.

Nabi had revealed his admiration for the midfielder on Wednesday, saying he would be a plus into his philosophy.

“For a case like Sirino, yes he is a very experienced player. We definitely want to look at him,” Nabi told SuperSport TV.

The Uruguayan will be Chiefs’ fourth signing

“We want to see if he’s physically ready, and he would be a plus into our philosophy.”

Nabi now seems to have got his man, making him the fourth signing for the Soweto giants following the arrival of goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari (TS Galaxy) and defenders Rushwin Dortley (Cape Town Spurs) as well as Bongani Sam (Orlando Pirates).

Sirino made 202 appearances for Sundowns, scoring 41 goals while providing 44 assists but was among the players released by Masandawa at the end of last season.
