The former Amakhosi and Mamelodi Sundowns star has scored eight goals in 15 games
Former Mamelodi Sundowns and Kaizer Chiefs forward Khama Billiat has ignited talk of a return to South Africa following his great form for Zimbabwean club Yadah Stars FC.
Billiat has been brilliant, scoring eight goals in 15 Zimbabwe Premier Soccer League matches, with three of them coming from as many games.
The 33-year-old left Chiefs at the end of the 2022-23 season and briefly trained with SuperSport United but did not find suitors in South Africa before he returned home.
Could Billiat’s good form earn him a PSL return?
It is a move that was seen as a step down but he has gone about his business well, showing that he is still capable of leading the line.
His good form has seen rumours swirl around that there could be interest from the PSL again although his current club would not want to lose him given they are third from bottom and need his goals to survive relegation.
The Zimbabwean striker enjoyed five trophy-laden years at Sundowns between 2013 and 2018, scoring 41 goals in 1011 appearances.
There is talk for a national team recall for Billiat
He then moved to Chiefs where he had a good start but injuries and poor form slowed him down and the Glamour Boys cut ties when his contract expired.
However, with his current form, he seems to be knocking on the door again and there has also been talk of a possible return to the national team which he last played for in 2021, having scored 18 goals in 43 games.
