The South African-born tactician is not happy at the continued absence of the midfielder
US-based South Africa tactician Kyle Timm wants Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos to consider giving opportunities to more players based in America such as Tsiki Ntsabeleng.
Ntsabeleng has not got a look-in into the Bafana Bafana squad despite an impressive stint in the US where he plays for Dallas FC.
The midfielder, who can also play as a winger, has been one of the standout performers for his team and Timm is of the opinion that Broos may be missing out big time by not considering the Kaizer Chiefs academy graduate.
‘If you are not sure, call him up to the COSAFA Cup’
“Number one, the highest level player currently [who is overlooked] is Tsiki Ntsabeleng, playing for MLS side FC Dallas. He is a player I brought from Chiefs in 2018,” Timm told KickOff.
“I saw him play for the U20 national team, I followed him and saw him play for UJ so I thought this boy takes his studies seriously. After I spoke to his parents, it was easy to bring him over. He already has quite a lot of publicity.
“What is weird is, if you are not sure, call him up to the COSAFA Cup, bring all these guys in the USA, if you are not sure about their division [and their level] and see them live and then you can decide maybe I can bring these boys to a full national team camp or you can decide they are not good enough.
Timm also rates Detroit City’s Yazeed Matthews highly
“The opinion that you see when you watch the game on video is inaccurate because not all players are easy on the eye.”
Another player that Timm rates highly is Yazeed Matthews who turns out for Detroit City in the US second tier.
He gave the example of Burnley striker Lyle Foster who is among Bafana Bafana regulars despite scoring five goals last season when the Clarets were relegated from the Premier League.
“You don’t discredit him [Foster] because he scored five goals because we know he is a good player. So, my thought is, bring these players for the COSAFA Cup and see the quality yourself,” said Timm.
