The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach is keen to lure the Corinthians striker to Morocco

Rulani Mokwena is in Brazil to try and convince Brazilian striker Pedrinho to join him at Wydad AC.

Mokwena is keen to strengthen his attack and has made the Brazilian his key target for a turnaround of fortunes for the Moroccan giants.

The former Mamelodi Sundowns coach travelled to Brazil with Wydad president Hicham Ait Menna to complete the transfer of the young striker from Corinthians.

The trip comes days after Brazilian journalist Pedro Ramiro reported that Menna will be in Brazil to tie up the deal for the 20-year-old who is soon to be a free agent as his contract at Corinthians comes to an end.

Will Mokwena succeed in luring the Brazilian striker?

Pedrinho made 20 appearances for Corinthians U20s last season, scoring seven goals in all competitions, and given his age, Wydad feel he can blossom into a top striker under the guidance of Mokwena.

The Moroccan giants have so far signed a number of players, among them Abdelali Mhamdi, Jawad Khalouk, Mohamed Moufid, Mohamed Rayhi, Hamza Sakhi, Nabil Marmouk, Zakaria Nassik, Nasim Chadli, Ade Oguns, Ayman Dairani, Bodda Mouhsine, Jawad Khalouk and Mouad Enzo.

They are, however, still looking to add onto the squad with former Sundowns forward Cassius Mailula linked with a reunion with Mokwena in Morocco, given his struggles at MLS side Toronto FC, while Bongani Zungu, another of the 37-year-old’s former players at the South African giants, also heavily linked.
