Bafana Bafana and Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Jayden Adams has conceded it wasn't easy adapting to Masandawana's style of play.
The 23-year-old made himself a name at Stellenbosch before switching to the defending Premier Soccer League champions at the beginning of the year. He has since established himself as one of the key players for the Brazilians, despite a section of South Africans feeling he might struggle to get into the team.
Adams has now opened up on life at Sundowns, and about his style of play that a few misunderstood, feeling he might be lazy with his approach. However, he has admitted coach Miguel Cardoso has helped him improve, and made him a ‘different player.'
‘I know where the spaces are'

“For me, I am a ball player. It wasn't easy to fit into the team. In this team, we like to have the ball and we press. Sometimes they say I am lazy, but I know where to be in the spaces. The team has helped me a lot, especially the coach. He has made me a different player,” he told the media.
In the same interview, Adams explained how Hugo Broos' snub owing to discipline issues made him a better player.
“It's like I was not out for a while. They welcomed me like I was not out for a while. The coach did punish me. I did my punishment. When I got back, I think my performance didn't give him a decision to put me out of the team,”he stated.
“It was an eye opener for me to do better and to fix my attitude. I did that and now I am back. Thank God for that.”
