‘They will sweat’: Amakhosi legend on Sundowns ahead of Chiefs clash

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs legend Gardner Seale has shared his thoughts about the upcoming game between his former side and Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday.

Amakhosi will host Masandawana at FNB Stadium at 15:00 as both sides aim for maximum points on the day.

This will be the first home game for Chiefs who have played their first two games against Marumo Gallants and AmaZulu away.

Gardner claims that Chiefs are on the edge, looking at their recent results.

Meanwhile, Seale believes Sundowns still need to prove themselves against a team of Chiefs' caliber after beating SuperSport United, Mbabane Swallows and Marumo Gallants.

CHIEFS LEGEND MAKES BOLD CLAIM ABOUT SUNDOWNS CLASH

“I think it's good for Kaizer Chiefs the way things are. It puts them on the edge. It's good preparations for what's coming on Saturday,” Seale told KickOff.

“But I trust Amakhosi. Each time they face the so-called big teams, they rise to the occasion.

“Beating Mbabane Swallows and Gallants doesn't make it obvious for Saturday's game.

“Tonight's result against AmaZulu will show us how far prepared Chiefs are. It's always important to go into a big game on the back of a good win.”

Seale believes that Chiefs will pose a significant challenge to Sundowns, unlike last season when they were easily defeated by Rulani Mokwena's side.

‘I PUT MY HEAD ON THE BLOCK’

“I put my head on the block about that. Chiefs should use tonight's game (against AmaZulu) to send a message to Sundowns,” he added.

“I think Sundowns will sweat on Saturday, even if the difference is an odd.

“Chiefs played well in their first game of the season against Marumo Gallants, and judging by the preparations, I'm not surprised.”
