The new Amakhosi tactician has revealed his desire to sign the ex-Mamelodi Sundowns winger
Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has admitted that former Mamelodi Sundowns star Gaston Sirino is among players he is considering.
Nabi received a reality check when his former side Yanga thrashed the Glamour Boys 4-0 in the Toyota Cup last weekend, exposing the problems within the squad.
That has further increased the need for reinforcements with a creative player in the mould of Sirino among those badly needed at Naturena.
‘We definitely want to look at him'
“Looking at the names you’ve given me, yes they are part of the large list that we have put together and we’re busy looking at,” Nabi told SuperSport TV.
“For a case like Sirino, yes he is a very experienced player. We definitely want to look at him.
“We want to see if he’s physically ready, and he would be a plus into our philosophy.”
Sirino favours a stay in the PSL
The Uruguayan winger was released by Sundowns at the end of last season but is believed to favour a stay in the PSL which seems to suit both parties.
Sirino, 33, spent six years at Sundowns after joining in January 2018 and made 202 appearances, scoring 41 goals while providing 44 assists.
Chiefs have only unveiled three new players, being goalkeeper Fiacre Ntwari (TS Galaxy) and defenders Rushwin Dortley (Cape Town Spurs) as well as Bongani Sam (Orlando Pirates).
