Two Chiefs players to miss Marumo Gallants clash

Published on by

Kaizer Chiefs will be without attackers Gaston Sirino and Pule Mmodi for their upcoming Betway Premiership encounter against Marumo Gallants this Saturday.

Both players are suspended after accumulating their fourth yellow cards of the season during the recent 0-0 draw against Chippa United.

While they will miss the clash against Bahlabane Ba Ntwa at FNB Stadium, their absence is temporary, as head coach Nasreddine Nabi will have them available for selection for the Soweto Derby against arch-rivals Orlando Pirates on 3May. They will also be available for the Nedbank Cup final against Pirates on 10 May.

So far this campaign, Sirino has contributed one goal and five assists in 16 league appearances, while Mmodi has one assist but no league goals from 17 outings.

CHIEFS TO MISS SIRINO AND MMODI

The Tunisian tactician will likely feel the absence of this attacking duo but will be pleased to welcome them back for the crucial May 3rd fixture, the first of two meetings with the Buccaneers next month.

In the reverse fixture earlier this season, Chiefs came from behind to secure a narrow 2-1 victory over the Bloemfontein-based side.

Gallants will also have a key player missing, with captain Edgar Manaka unavailable. The match at FNB Stadium, also known as the Calabash, is scheduled to kick off at 15:00.
