Venue for Bafana Bafana’s first AFCON qualifier revealed

SAFA has revealed the venue for Bafana Bafana’s AFCON qualifier against Uganda which will take place in the next three weeks.

South Africa were pitted against Uganda, Congo and South Sudan. The matches will be played during the September, October and November international breaks.

The AFCON qualifiers first match will see Bafana lock horns with Uganda at Orlando Stadium on 06 September at 6 pm. Tickets are now on sale at R30 for Children, Scholars and Student and R60 for Adults.

They can be purchased at TicketPro outlets [Spar supermarkets (QuickSpar and SuperSpar), SASOL, ENGEN, SHELL, PowerFashion and JAM Clothing].

SAFA STATEMENT ON VENUE FOR BAFANA BAFANA VS UGANDA

“Tickets to next month’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier between Bafana Bafana and Uganda have gone on sale at all TicketPro outlets,” stated SAFA’s statement.

“SAFA CEO Lydia Monyepao confirmed to www.safa.net that the AFCON qualifier will be played at Orlando Stadium in Soweto, Johannesburg, and kick off is at 18h00 on Friday, 06 September 2024.

“SAFA President Dr Danny Jordaan urged supporters to come out in numbers and support Bafana Bafana in the same way they have shown in the last few months.

“Ticket sales are now open, please come out in numbers and make it count in the stands. We want to continue the momentum and the amazing scenes we saw in Bloemfontein when Bafana Bafana faced Zimbabwe in June. We want to see the same at Orlando Stadium,” said Dr Jordaan.

“Gates will open at 15h00 on Friday, 06 September 2024 and tickets are priced at R30 (Children, Scholars and Student), R60 for Adults, and R140 for Family (2 adults + 2 children).

“The tickets are available at TicketPro, all Spar supermarkets (QuickSpar and SuperSpar), SASOL, ENGEN, SHELL, PowerFashion and JAM Clothing.

“After facing Uganda at Orlando Stadium, Bafana Bafana will travel to South Sudan to play their second match in the group on Tuesday, 10 September 2024. Coach Hugo Broos’ team are in Group K where they have been pitted against Uganda, Congo and South Sudan.

“The two top finishers will qualify for the tournament to be hosted in Morocco from 21 December 2025 to 18 January 2026.”
