Kaizer Chiefs utility player Wandile Duba has explained how the club’s head coach Nasreddine Nabi has significantly influenced his game in a relatively brief timeframe.
Duba was promoted to the first team at the start of the previous season following impressive displays in the DStv Diski Challenge.
He was playing more as a centre forward during his days in the reserve league, rattling in goals under the guidance of coach Vela Khumalo.
He has played in all opening three league games this season under the new leadership of Nabi.
Duba notes that Nabi has broadened his perspective on his capabilities, indicating that he can be utilized in various positions beyond just that of a striker.
In a recent encounter against Mamelodi Sundowns, the 20-year-old showcased his versatility by playing both as a right-wing back and a right winger.

DUBA REVEALS NABI’S IMPACT ON HIS GAME
“I found out this season that I can actually play as a winger. He's [Nabi] the one who prefers me to play on the side. If I think of it, it may be because of my speed and mentality,” said Duba.
“I don't mind playing there [as a winger] because I'm a player willing to work. Any position I'm told to play at, I will play there.
“My natural position is being a striker, if the coach feels like Ranga [Chivaviro] has pressure he will make small changes [put me as a striker].
“That's a difficult role [wingback], I don't want to lie, I'm not familiar playing as a wingback. We knew they [Sundowns] attack on the right side [Thapelo] Morena's side, so I was the player to deal with him.”
