Molde FK of Norway has officially announced the acquisition of Samukelo Kabini from TS Galaxy, a move prompted by the defender's impressive showings in the Betway Premiership over the past season and a half.
Kabini departs the Rockets after a year and a half where he became a key figure in their defensive setup.
The transfer of the 21-year-old is understood to have been completed for a fee of approximately R15 million.
KABINI BECOMES FIRST SOUTH AFRICAN TO PLAY FOR MOLDE
“Samukele Kabini (21) has signed a contract with Molde FK that extends until 2028. The left-footed defender comes from TS Galaxy FC in South Africa’s top division,” Molde said in a statement.
“Kabini has mostly played left-back and center-back, and he is described as a physically strong and versatile defender with great development potential. He will also make history as Molde FK’s first-ever South African player.
Looking forward to the challenge, the young defender sees Molde as the perfect place to take the next step in his career.
“I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club and have seen how Molde performs both I Norway and in Europe. It seems like a fantastic place to develop as a player,” said Kabini.
“I like to play with intensity and use my physicality in duels. I’ve played both as a left-back and center-back, and I always give my all for the team.”Kabini has now completed the medical test and is ready for his first training session with the team today.”
