Orlando Pirates midfielder Patrick Maswanganyi has expressed his delight after the team secured their place in the CAF Champions League quarterfinals.
The Buccaneers achieved this by defeating Algerian side CR Belouizdad 2-1 at Orlando Stadium this past weekend.
Maswanganyi played a crucial role in the victory, providing the assist for Thalente Mbatha's stunning long-range goal.
Speaking to the club's media team, Maswanganyi emphasized the importance of this win, particularly following their recent league defeat to Cape Town City.
He reiterated the team's commitment to competing strongly in all competitions throughout the season.

MASWANGANYI ON QUALIFYING FOR CAF CL QUARTERS
“I think we had to make a statement. This is our home, let's show up for the game,” said Maswanganyi.
“I'm very happy with everyone in the team. We managed to score two goals. We wanted more, but we are happy with three points.
“We are also happy that we qualified for the next stage. I want to say thank you to the gents for working hard, for pushing. This is what we have to do week in, week out.
“We are here to perform and we are here to give it our all each and every gam.”
