What makes Chiefs coach happy despite Soweto derby loss

Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi has revealed what makes him happy despite losing to Orlando Pirates in the Soweto derby.

A dramatic 94th-minute panenka penalty from Patrick Maswanganyi sealed victory for the Buccaneers at a sold-out FNB Stadium.

Despite the outcome of the match against a high-flying Pirates side, Nabi identified several positive aspects of Chiefs' performance, particularly the demonstrable improvement in the team's mentality compared to the previous season.

NABI SAYS CHIEFS ARE BETTER THAN LAST SEASON

“I love the team’s progress, the mentality has changed compared with last season. Kaizer Chiefs will come back, there were a lot of positives that we picked today [against Orlando Pirates],” said Nabi as quoted by FARPost.

“It’s true, the performance was somehow good because the players are slowly coming to where we want them to be. Their mentality has totally changed.”

Meanwhile, he revealed that they will receive major boost in the next match with the return of Ashley Du Preez, Wandile Duba and Tashreeq Morris.

“For the next match, where we have players like Ashley [Dupreez], Duba [Wandile], and Morris [Tashreeq] coming back, this can only increase everyone’s level of competitiveness in the team. A player like Ashley has been good in the history of derbies since he came to the team.”
