What Sundowns defender Terrence Mashego is ‘anticipating’ against Chiefs

Mamelodi Sundowns defender Terrence Mashego has discussed what they’re “anticipating” ahead of the Kaizer Chiefs blockbuster clash.

The two sides will face off in the Carling Knockout Cup quarterfinal on Saturday, 2 November at the FNB Stadium at 8:00 pm.

Mashego noted that the current Chiefs team differs significantly from previous seasons, presenting a new challenge for Sundowns.

Despite this, he believes Sundowns' experience will be crucial in overcoming the pressure of the big match.

TERRENCE MASHEGO ON WHAT SUNDOWNS EXPECT AGAINST CHIEFS

“The last game that we played against Kaizer Chiefs, it was difficult even though we managed to win it but it was not an easy game,” said Mashego in an interview with iDiski Times.

“So going to this match I know that it will be a difficult game. It’s not going to be an easy game. At the moment Chiefs are doing well with the new coach and also new players.

“The last game they managed to score four goals against SuperSport of which it’s a sign that they are doing well at the moment, so we are anticipating a tough game.

“In terms of playing against Chiefs, I know that I have played against Chiefs nine times and I lost only once but I don’t dwell too much into history.

“But there are few lessons that I have learned from those games that I have played against Chiefs, especially in terms of handling pressure and handling the atmosphere so I’d say those are the lessons that I’d take going into this game.”
