When will Sundowns & Pirates learn CAF CL group stages opponents

Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates and Stellenbosch have found out when they will discover their upcoming opponents, following the announcement by CAF regarding the draw for the CAF Champions League and CAF Confederation Cup.

The Brazilians progressed to the next round after defeating Mbabane Swallows, while Orlando Pirates secured their place in the group stages by overcoming Jwaneng Galaxy.  

In addition, Stellenbosch achieved a historic milestone by defeating AS Vita, thereby qualifying for the group stages of the Confederation Cup for the first time.

Both draws will take place on Monday, 7 October in Cairo, Egypt.

CAF STATEMENT ON DRAW DATE FOR CHAMPIONS LEAGUE & CONFED CUP

“The Confédération Africaine de Football (“CAF”) has announced the date and time for the 2024/25 TotalEnergies CAF Champions League and TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage Draw,” said the statement.

“Both draws will be conducted on Monday, 07 October 2024. The TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup Group Stage Draw will start at 13h00 Cairo time (11h00 GMT) followed by the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League at 14h00 local time (11h00 GMT).

“The full list of the qualified teams will be confirmed on Sunday night, 22 September 2024.”
