Magesi FC coach Owen Da Gama has explained why Kaizer Chiefs Bongani Sam’s move to Dikwena Tsa Meetse collapsed at the eleventh hour.
The transfer of the Kaizer Chiefs defender to Polokwane City appeared imminent, with both clubs reportedly reaching an agreement towards the end of the January transfer window.
SABC Sport even reported that the defender had undergone medical examinations in Johannesburg.
Speaking after the club’s loss to SuperSport United on Tuesday night, Da Gama said there were several issues that couldn’t be resolved during the negotiations.

“Well, I cannot reveal that because there are a lot of negotiations carrying on, and they are trying to finalise the issues,” said Day Gama.
“So, how quickly they will be able to do that, and whether they can do that, it’s a very difficult question to answer.”
The 27-year-old left-back joined Kaizer Chiefs at the beginning of the 2024/25 Betway Premiership season from Orlando Pirates, but has yet to feature in any league game for his new club.
He only made an appearance in a friendly cup competition. His time at Chiefs has been plagued by injury, as he suffered a knee injury during the club's pre-season training camp in Turkey.
