Oswin Appollis’ agent Lance Davids has revealed why Kaizer Chiefs couldn’t seal the deal with the Polokwane City winger this past transfer window.
Davids was speaking in an interview with SNAWA on Metro FM on Monday. He stated that Amakhosi have been the long time admirers for the 23-year-old.
The Bafana Bafana star was also wanted by Esperance, MC Alger and Mamelodi Sundowns.
Esperance and MC Alger moves fell through even after the two North African clubs met the Rise and Shine’s asking price.
Meanwhile, according to Davids, Polokwane chairman Johnny Mogaladi wanted a once off payment for Appollis and Chiefs could only afford to pay with instalments.
This was the main factor behind their failure to reach agreement with the Limpopo club.

AGENT ON HOW CHIEFS FAILED TO BRING APPOLLIS ON BOARD
“The last 72 hours, Sundowns came in, they had a chat with Johnny but he just went offline again,” said Davids.
“Kaizer Chiefs were really, really from the beginning, from the word go, they were trying to push, push.
“I think Johnny wanted all the money upfront and I don’t think Kaizer Chiefs a capacity to go.
“But I think there was a deal to make it. Junior (Kaizer Motaung Jr.) was pushing, even Bobsteak (Bobby Motaung) was also pushing hard to make this thing happen.”
He further revealed that following the agreements with the aforementioned North African clubs, Mogaladi became untraceable, intentionally severing communication.
“There was a price, we came to an agreement with them with the North African team, it was done,” he added.
“We just couldn’t find him afterwards. The North African team wanted to pay once off. We just couldn’t find him afterwards
Davids revealed that Sundowns also met the club’s asking price on Appollis but Mogaladi was nowhere to be found for the deal to go through.
“I think Sundowns met the (asking) price, they would definitely meet the price but he couldn’t be found afterwards,” he concluded.
