Yanga star Ki confirms interest from PSL – Is it Mamelodi Sundowns, Orlando Pirates or Kaizer Chiefs?

The experienced attacker has attracted several teams in Mzansi owing to his style of play.

Burkina Faso international Stephane Aziz Ki has confirmed Premier Soccer League teams have approached him for his services.

The 28-year-old attacker scored 21 goals in 17 league matches to help Yanga SC win the Tanzanian top-tier. He was also crucial for Wananchi in the Caf Champions League where he scored two goals and provided as many assists before the journey was controversially ended by Mamelodi Sundowns.

Coincidentally, Aziz Ki's strike was adjudged not to have crossed the line – although replays suggested otherwise, and after a goalless draw in aggregate, the South Africans won the penalty shootout before being knocked out by Esperance in the semi-final.

‘Three clubs from South Africa came straight to me…'

Ki was in the Yanga SC team that played Bundesliga outfit Augsburg on Saturday in the Mpumalanga Premier's Cup, a game they lost 2-1. It was after the game that the Burkinabe opened up about PSL interest.

“Even after the [Caf Champions League] game [against Ddowns] there were like three clubs, three teams from South Africa [interested in me],” he said in a presser.

“They came straight to me but what I said was that I have not finished my job with Young Africans.

“For me, it’s like one project between me and the team, I want to go far with this team. It is not finished, I have to come back to work and then go further with this team. I know these teams, so many clubs here [in the PSL] came to me but I need to finish my job here at Yanga.”

Chiefs will have another chance to see the attacker next Sunday in the Toyota Cup game.
