IFK Varnamo midfielder Luke Le Roux has lauded midfielder Themba Zwane insisting he is the best he has played with.

The duo played together in Bafana Bafana's Group K 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Congo in the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium on October 11, a match they won 5-0. Mshishi started the match while Le Roux was introduced in the 67th minute after replacing Bathusi Aubaas.

The game against the Red Devils marked a special day for the Mamelodi Sundowns captain who has now made 51 appearances for the national team.

Zwane, ‘the best player I have played with in my career' – Le Roux

The 24-year-old needed a few minutes to see why Zwane is highly rated in Mzansi and his worth to Hugo Broos' Bafana Bafana.

“Look, I’ve played I think now four or five games with ‘Mshishi The Great’ as we call him,” the former Stellenbosch player told iDiski Times.

“I can tell you honestly, he’s the best player I have played with in my career. I think that says a lot. Just the type of player he is, the way he moves on the field, the way he passes the ball, the way he moves, everything is just smooth, you know.

“That’s true, he doesn’t lose the ball and he’s really good with the ball. He does what he needs to do and what he wants to do,” Le Roux concluded.

Zwane sustained an Achilles injury on Tuesday, October 15 in the second meeting with Congo, a match that ended 1-1.

The 35-year-old is expected to miss several months of action owing to the situation.
